WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to successfully execute this event! Please review the available slots and sign up for shifts below.  All of these activities are eligible for COLORFUL CORD hours and SILVER CORD hours for WBHS students.

Parade is Saturday, August 10th at 10:00am. No fee to participate. See form for details.

"Fire in the Hole"
WBFD Bags Tournament

Grab a partner and register now; pre-registration is required. The double-elimination tournament will be limited to 32 teams. Bags fly at 6pm at the Fire Station on Friday, August 9th as we kick off the festival.

Youth Hoover-Ball

Teams must include 4-6 players. Open to youth entering grades 4-9.  See full details and rules at hoover-ball.org

Adult Hoover-Ball

The Hoover-Ball National Championship tournament will take place on Saturday, August 10th. There are two divisions: Men and Women. Each team must have a minimum of 3 players and may have 1-2 substitutes. Learn how to play or review the full rules at hoover-ball.org.  This year the final games for both divisions will be played in front of a crowd at Bert's 150th Birthday Bash within the National Park at 6pm on Saturday.

Hoover Prairie Run

This annual 5K Prairie Run takes place on the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and follows a challenging course on mown grass trails through the beautiful Tall-Grass Prairie at the height of summer bloom. Walkers enjoy a paved 1.5K path. On-line registration is open until Aug. 8th and in-person registration is open from 7:15-8:00 the morning of the event.

Pop-In Creative Experience

Tura Lura Co. is hosting a Reed Diffuser Bar at a very special price of only $15 to celebrate Hoover's big 150! Reserve a spot to pop-in and create a custom reed diffuser during Hoover's Hometown Days. Stop by anytime 10:30am-2:30pm on Saturday, August 10th to enjoy this special experience. Limited tickets available, pre-sign up only.
