Hoover Prairie Run

Get ready for the 2nd Hoover Prairie Run held in conjunction with Hoover’s Hometown Days! The challenging 5K Prairie Run takes place on the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and follows mown, hilly grass trails through the beautiful tall-grass prairie at the height of summer bloom and a mix of paved and grass paths on the Hoover Presidential Museum and Library grounds. There will be a less challenging route for walkers, too!

Online registration is open until August 4th, but if you register by July 20th, the fees are reduced and you are guaranteed a t-shirt for participating!

Live music continues on Saturday, with Lojo Russo on Main Street!

Lojo Russo has been making music along the Mississippi River for most of her life. She spent many years in Minnesota and now lives in the Quad Cities. The easy life of Iowa has had an influence on her music – where once she wrote dramatic and ethereal folk-rock ballads Russo now finds herself pursuing a more roots and Americana flavor.

Hoover-Ball Registration

Hoover-Ball is back! This year, the Youth Hoover-Ball tourney will be played on Saturday, August 7 on the Village Green from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Hoover-Ball National Championships for adults will still be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration for all ages is available now at hoover-ball.org. There is no fee to enter the Youth Tournament, however space is limited to the first 10 complete teams to register in their divisions. Find the rules and all the division information at the website. Adults can save money by registering early, too!
