Get ready for History’s Hottest Block Party — where presidential pride meets small-town summer fun! Each August, West Branch throws a celebration like no other, honoring our most famous native son, President Herbert Hoover, while showcasing the spirit, charm, and community pride that make our town shine.

From live music and kids’ activities to local food, historical experiences, and small-town traditions, Hoover’s Hometown Days brings together residents and visitors for a weekend that blends the past with the present in the heart of Iowa. Mark your calendars and join us on Friday & Saturday, August 7-8, 2026 as we turn up the heat on history, community, and hometown fun!

We are now accepting applications for food trucks, pop-up shops and vendors/crafters to join us on Main Street during Hoover's Hometown Days. All details, requirements and fees are outlined in the application. Apply before May 1st.

Freedom 250

This August, the Freedom 250 mobile museum is rolling into President Hoover's birthplace. This semi-trailer provides an immersive journey through America's founding. It will be at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, August 5-9, 2026. Do not miss it during Hoover's Hometown Days (August 7-8)!
